Hard to believe this was two years ago. The whole weekend was amazing…first Atlanta and then two Birmingham shows. I met GREAT people during the weekend, everyone was just wonderful. This is the only video I took. I was way too nervous to even take this one…but it was the last concert and I figured if the ushers would come get me, I would just start talking Finnish to them. (actually what really happened when one of the ushers approached me was that I switched off the camera right away…only to learn that he just wanted me to move away from the corridor because the Hoover High School drumline was next. Bummer.) But I got most of it and I’m very proud of the result.
And very grateful to Bigsis that she rescued the file after I accidently deleted it from my camera.
I love this number. Taylor’s very playful…and funny forgetting about the lyrics. The harp playing is amazing.
Next time I see Taylor in concert I’ll try to take more video.

Homewood Drumline and The Runaround – by beachn
Goosebumps – what a thrill it was to witness Taylor’s interaction with this spectucular Homewood High School Drumline in Birmingham, Alabama.
Taylor playing the Alabama Theatre in his hometown was enough to give one goosebumps, but when the drums could be heard from the back of the theatre, we knew something special was happening and we knew what song was coming next! Only The Runaround could be complemented by the beats of the drums and cymbals we heard coming into the building from the outside. All eyes in the house turned to the aisles to see these kids in full uniform marching toward the stage as they made those familiar sounds that open Taylor’s fun song.
An email response from the band director told me how honored these students were to be invited to play with Taylor and that Taylor was great with them!! As you can see in the video, Taylor gives them praise and appreciation for joining him on stage!! I get chills all over watching this video again. What a unique and
special experience Taylor provided for the Drumline and the audience in Birmingham!!
