Taylor Hicks covering “Lowdown”

Recently Taylor Hicks asked fans on Twitter to send him a link for his youtube covers of Boz Scaggs’ “Lowdown.” Taylor performed this cover several times during both the Spring and Summer tours of 2007. The best one I have seen is from Bloomsburg Fair in PA, taken by dg90001.

Before the Jones Beach concert, I had a Meet&Greet and I mentioned that this Boz Scaggs song was a favorite of mine. I almost dropped the camera when he began to sing it! Perhaps he is planning on putting it back in his setlists? We can hope!

More from Jam Cruise9

As far as Taylor Hicks fans are concerned, Jam Cruise9 is the cruise that never stops giving. Thanks go out to all the cruisers who are bringing back such wonderful music to us! On this fun video full of photos and videos, we see and hear Taylor on “25 Miles” with Jo Jo’s Mardi Gras Band and “Nobody” with the Robert Randolph & Family Band.

Slow Jam with Taylor Hicks

January 15, 2011

Ain’t That Loving You Baby

As videos continue to surface from Jam Cruise9, we find Taylor Hicks sitting in with many of the musicians on great songs like “Standing on Shaky Ground” and “Love the One You’re With.” This one is a little different – a slow jam with Maceo Parker, Stanton Moore, George Porter Jr, Robert Walters and Erik Krasno.

Fantastic!

Taylor Hicks Jamming

Taylor Hicks is on a cruise – a jam cruise – and it’s been a media blackout for a few days! But according to a blogger, Taylor sat in with Galactic and did “a killer rendition of Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’ featuring Taylor Hicks on vocals.”

Hopefully some media will be surfacing of this killer rendition. Until that time, enjoy these other versions of “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” that Taylor did on his recent Summer Tour in 2010.

When I saw Taylor and the band do this cover at Anthology in San Deigo CA, he talked about hearing it on the tour bus and all “ten dudes on the bus” couldn’t wait to jam with it. We saw that when Taylor put this cover in his setlist, he especially let some of the band members shine.
