Taylor Hicks: a look back at some great 2011 performances

As we wait for Taylor Hicks to release his new CD and for the band to hit the road in 2012, let’s look back at some of the great videos taken by fans in 2011.

In May 2011, Taylor Hicks put together a 2 week mini-tour of the Northeast with gigs in PA, NY, ME, NJ, OH and MA. His band included the terrific Brian Less, Brandon Peeples, Leif Bondarenko, David Keith, Sam Gunderson and Jeff Lopez. We were treated to some great performances during this mini-tour.

At Hershey Park, Taylor did two shows. The resident Cocoa Rhythm Factory Band sat in for both shows during “Love the One You’re With” and they made this song lots of fun for the audience. Chocolate, roller coasters and music – priceless!

Taylor Hicks singing My Funny Valentine

Way back, way back, way back on June 2, 2007, Taylor Hicks and his band performed at the Elvis Presley Festival in Tupelo, Mississippi.

On a personal note, I was born on Valentine’s Day and my father used to sing My Funny Valentine to me from as long back as I can remember, so this little song means a lot to me. Tonight Taylor Hicks is doing a private concert for the American Moving and Storage Association Convention in Las Vegas. Maybe he will sing this song tonight, maybe not, but we do know that he sang it that day in Tupelo as a tag in Hold On To Your Love.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone from Taylor Hicks Fan Video.

On April 17, 2011, Taylor Hicks and his band performed at the Culture Fest in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I love this video of a young child jamming with his saxophone during the concert. Enjoy!

As we wait for Taylor Hicks to release his new CD and for the band to hit the road in 2012, let’s look back at some of the great videos taken by fans in 2011.

In February 2011, Taylor Hicks got his band together for a three day tour through Florida and Mississippi. Joining Brian Less (keyboards), Brandon Peeples (bass), Leif Bondarenko (drums), Sam Gunderson (guitar) and Jeff Lopez (sax, flute) was David Keith on percussion.

I had been to Tunica the night before and heard Taylor sing “Why Can’t We Live Together” at the B3 organ. What a great surprise! So when he headed over to the B3 in Biloxi, I got my camera out and ready to record this new and exciting addition to the setlist!
